The House System

Every child entering Ambuja Vidya Niketan is placed in a house and is gradually introduced to the ethos of the institution. The house system is formed to inculcate team spirit and a sense of belonging to the school. It provides excellent opportunities for student leadership and peer group support, aided by dedicated mentors and house captains. It enables them to bond together and operate as a cohesive family. Students from classes I to XII are divided into four houses namely:

1) Kalam         2) Patel            3) Tagore         4)Subhash

The houses compete in different sporting, cultural, and academic competitions, and provide an excellent way of meeting people outside one's own class and age group, all of whom have a common goal and purpose. the best house is awarded at the end of academic session this house system enhances their competitive spirit while working in a team.

The houses have a crystal clear objective of giving children a true vision of life to help them face challenges in a positive and dynamic way and vigorously contribute to society.

The Sports and Games

Sports hold an important and prominent place in the school curriculum and immense stress is laid on regular games and sports being played by the students to keep them physically fit and mentally alert. The school has large playing fields and our students have the opportunity to play a range of sports — cricket, football, athletics, badminton, and volleyball. Also there are facilities for indoor sports like Table Tennis, Carom, and Chess etc. Apart from this, Mass Physical Training Period kept in the Time Table once in a week.

Various sports are played within the school to give maximum students an opportunity to play organized competitive games and to develop in them the essential qualities of friendship, sportsmanship, esprit-de-corps, brotherhood and comradeship so vital for personality development. Inter-school and Inter-house fixtures are regularly played by the students in various disciplines of sport. The aim is to equip the students to emerge as holistic human beings who continue to grow in knowledge, curiosity, courage, achievements, confidence, competence with sense of fulfillment and understanding. We believe that the task of building a new world must find support in our schools, where our young students must be educated in a new perspective, so that they can bring about a change in the dynamics of human relations in the world outside.
